Breaking barriers. Building confidence. Creating change.
In partnership with Studio Samuel, we're proud to introduce Yewer Abeba (Monthly Flower) – a mobile app designed by girls, for girls, to transform how young women understand and manage their menstrual health.
50% of schoolgirls in Ethiopia miss between one and four days of school every month due to their monthly menstruation, while 67% of girls have no access to education on puberty and menstrual health. This isn't just about periods – it's about education, opportunity, and equality.
Working hand-in-hand with Studio Samuel's Teen MHM Ambassadors, we've built something that addresses the real questions girls face every day: How do I talk to my family? Where can I access supplies? How can I manage school with confidence and dignity?
Every screen, every word, and every feature has been shaped by the lived experiences of the girls it serves. From rural areas where water access is limited, to urban environments where facilities may be available but education is not — Yewer Abeba bridges the gap between knowledge and access, while honoring and integrating cultural wisdom.
When a girl is informed, she stays in school. She supports her peers. She becomes an advocate. The ripple effect of one informed girl can transform an entire community.
